What is illuminated LED furniture for, and who is it worth it for?

It pays off when the furniture is also the lighting and the decoration. At an evening garden reception or on a terrace, illuminated tables and seating replace separate decorative lights, festoon lighting and the cables running to them: no generator, no cable ramps, and no need to work out where a socket at the far end of the garden will come from. It is aimed first of all at event organisers, hotels, restaurants, terrace bars, stand builders and venues hired out for photo shoots, but private buyers with a garden or a pool buy it too. The other typical reason is mobility: with no cable, the furniture can be moved around even during the event. The pieces weigh from 3.5 kg (the lightest coffee table) to 35 kg (the 177 cm sofa), so one person can carry the smaller items and two the large ones.

How to choose types and quantities

How many guests, how much space

Height decides first, not colour. The cocktail table at around 110 cm (in Ø58, Ø80 and 60 × 60 cm versions) is for standing receptions: a Ø80 cm table has a circumference of about 2.5 metres, and at 60–70 cm per person 3–4 guests stand around it comfortably — so for a standing reception of 60 people, 15–20 cocktail tables is the realistic order of magnitude. The dining table at around 75 cm (for example the Ø100 cm round model) is for seated dinners, with 4–6 chairs around it. The coffee table is 40–56 cm high and goes with armchairs and sofas, not chairs. The bar counters are 100–110 cm high, as straight elements 90, 102 and 150 cm wide and as corner elements of 70 × 70 and 80 × 80 cm — from these, L- and U-shaped bars can be assembled. If you are building a lounge corner, the straight and corner elements of the modular sofa are the most flexible: two straight elements and one corner element already make a complete seating corner. For quantity, a simple rule: the illuminated furniture should fill 20–30 per cent of the space and the rest should stay free to walk through — if you cram everything in, the light breaks up and loses its effect.

Running time and charging during an event

Depending on the model, the built-in batteries have a capacity of between 2600 and 5600 mAh, and larger pieces often have two working in one item. The manufacturer states 6–8 hours of lighting time for every product, depending on the colour chosen — so one charge covers the evening part of an event starting at 6 pm. A practical tip: if your event runs until dawn, do not count on the light for the last hour. Either keep charged spare pieces in the vehicle and swap the critical items (stools, cocktail tables), or accept that the light will run out in the small hours — when the battery is flat the furniture does not become unusable, only dark. The product data sheets do not state a charging time, so do not plan on recharging in half an hour during the event. Plan charging for the day before the event, not for its last hours.

Outdoor use, weather and cleaning

The body is polyethylene, IP54 water-resistant, UV-resistant and impact-resistant, and it also withstands extreme temperatures. In practice IP54 means that splashing water and rain will not put a piece out of action: a summer shower, dew or a spilt drink is no reason to carry everything inside. What it does not mean is immersion: throwing it into the pool or leaving it standing in water for long is not covered. Cleaning is simple precisely because there is no fabric cover: a damp cloth and a neutral cleaner are enough, and wine, coffee and grease do not soak into the surface. This is where illuminated furniture has an operating advantage over a fabric-covered lounge set — there is no upholstery cleaner to call between two events, and a disinfecting wipe-down can be built into the schedule.

What determines the price, and how the set discount works

Price is driven mainly by size and the amount of material: the smallest piece, the 40 × 40 × 40 cm cube stool, is HUF 45,000 gross (about €90 net), and the 195 × 90 × 90 cm relax lounger is HUF 390,000 gross (about €770 net) — the two ends of the category. Roughly, in indicative net prices excluding VAT, converted at a fixed rate: stools and small tables about €90–215, chairs and armchairs about €150–345, cocktail and dining tables about €215–435, bar counters about €435–620, large sofas and the relax lounger about €740–770. Within that, extra function counts too: a bar counter with storage or an upper shelf costs more than a plain corner element, because it contains more material and more battery capacity. The set discount is 5%, and it applies in two cases: to the ready-made sets listed on our website, or to your own selection of at least three pieces from at least two furniture types — a table with chairs, say, or a bar counter with bar stools — in a single order. The two cannot be combined: the discount does not stack with a ready-made set's price.

How ordering works

Request, stock check, written confirmation

You cannot pay on the site, and that is not an omission but deliberate. These pieces are stocked in small numbers per item, so with instant online payment you could end up paying for eight chairs of which only six are in stock. Instead, you send an order request: what you would like, how many, by when, and where it should go. We then check stock for every item and confirm in writing what is available and when. Only after that do we agree price, delivery and payment. If you are ordering from outside Hungary, bear in mind that our price list is kept in Hungarian forints: delivery to your country and the final price — net for business buyers — are set out in that written reply. To make the reply quick, two details always help: the date and the venue of the event. If a particular piece is in short supply, there is often an alternative of similar size and function in the category — among the 16 tables and 12 sofas and armchairs there is plenty of overlap.

When NOT to choose it

If you want to show content — a logo, video, lettering, a live feed — you need not illuminated furniture but a LED wall or a LED poster display. Illuminated furniture gives single-colour light in one of seven colours; it has no pixels and no image surface, so it cannot display a brand message. Do not choose it either if the furniture would run continuously for 10–12 hours a day: battery operation is designed for 6–8 hours, and for all-day opening hours mains-powered lighting is the better answer. Nor does it belong in a classic, understated interior: the glowing polyethylene body is striking but not neutral, and in a quiet restaurant it is more likely to distract. Finally, if you are organising a seated dinner where guests stay in one place for four hours, a backless stool is the wrong choice — that calls for a chair with a backrest or an armchair.
