The 104 cm overall height puts it in the bar stool category: it belongs with the 100 cm counters in the range and with the 109.5 and 110 cm counters and cocktail tables. It is not the chair for a dining table — the 72–80 cm overall-height models belong there. Three of these stools fit comfortably along a 150 cm counter, reckoning 50 cm each. Four go around a Ø80 cocktail table if it can be sat around on all sides — but because of the backrest, leave more room for walking round than you would with backless stools.
The backrest: comfort and the space it takes
A backrest means the guest sits comfortably for hours. In exchange, the stool cannot be pushed fully under the counter, so it takes more room in the guest area. On a narrow terrace that can decide the matter in favour of backless stools. As an operator the decision is simple: where the guest sits and spends for a long time, the stool with a backrest is right; where the seat has to turn over, the backless stool is faster.
Running time and loading
The 2600 mAh battery goes with the smaller body; the manufacturer states 6–8 hours of lighting time across the range, depending on the colour. That covers an evening of bar service, and charging can be done during the day. 8 kg: one person carries two stools at a time. An IP54 water-resistant, UV-resistant, impact-resistant polyethylene body that also tolerates temperature extremes. It can stay out on a terrace all season and does not have to be brought in when it rains. Cleaning is with a damp cloth. On a bar stool the most common soiling is a spilt drink and shoe marks on the footrest — both wipe off and neither soaks in. On an upholstered bar stool the same thing would mean a stain and a smell.
