An illuminated sun lounger is worth the most where guests are still outside after dark — a hotel pool area, a wellness terrace, a rooftop rest zone. 195 × 90 cm, that is a footprint of 1.76 m² per piece. Counting room to walk around, each lounger needs 2.5–3 m², so eight to ten of them can be planned for a 30 m² pool deck if you also leave the walkways. The 90 cm width means two people can settle on it, which in a VIP area is the typical use. The load capacity is 150–200 kg, so this is not a question of load.
Why battery power matters here
Near a pool or any wet area, a fixed electrical point is always a matter of permits, protection and documentation. A battery-powered, IP54-rated piece of furniture simply takes that question out of the picture: no cable on a wet surface, no extension lead across a walkway, no trip hazard. The two 5200 mAh batteries carry the long run of LEDs. The manufacturer states 6–8 hours of lighting time across the range, depending on the colour — enough for an evening's opening hours, and the piece can be charged during the day.
22 kg and 195 cm: loading and installation
The critical number is not the 22 kg but the 195 cm length: it has to be carried by two people, because one person cannot handle it in a doorway, on stairs or round a corner. Plan for two people and one trip per piece. In the load space, with a 195 × 90 cm footprint, a single lounger fits laid flat on a 1.7 × 3 metre floor. So this is not a piece for being ferried from event to event but for fixed installation: you set it up beside the pool and it works there for the season.
Outdoors, water, cleaning
IP54 water-resistant, UV-resistant, impact-resistant polyethylene body, able to cope with extreme temperatures. That is exactly what a pool deck needs: water running off a guest climbing out, splashes and traces of chlorine do it no harm. Cleaning is done with a damp cloth, and there is no textile to stain or go mouldy from suntan oil or chlorinated water. With a fabric-covered sun lounger it is precisely those two things that finish the furniture off within two or three seasons.
What it costs to equip a pool deck
Eight loungers for a 30 m² pool deck cost eight times the price of one piece, which is shown above on this page. That is a large item, so it is worth building up in stages: four loungers in the strip with the best view, the rest next season. Because the light changes on every piece at once from the remote control, loungers bought later still match the ones you have. An alternative, if you are working from a smaller budget: a few illuminated armchairs and one large table give the same evening effect, only not lying down.
