A fully front-serviceable, cable-free fine-pitch LED cabinet for studios and control rooms.
Unilumin · fine-pitch LED cabinet for indoor display walls
UpanelS LED module and cabinet
UpanelS is a member of Unilumin's fine-pitch LED display family, developed specifically for indoor environments where the rear of the display is not accessible (a wall-mounted control room or studio wall, for instance). The manufacturer calls it a 16:9 standard cabinet in which the module and the cabinet are structurally separate, which allows better heat dissipation.
The product's main characteristic is comprehensive front servicing: not only the LED modules but also the power supplies, the signal cabling and the control electronics can be replaced from the front alone, without moving the cabinet. Available pixel pitches range from P0.9 to P2.5, so the product can be used from very close viewing out to a few metres.
The manufacturer highlights the duplicated (redundant) power, signal and control system, as well as automatic temperature, voltage and connection monitoring per module.
Where the UpanelS sits in an LED wall system
On the UpanelS the cabinet is a closed assembly unit: the LED modules, the power supply, the signal cabling and the receiving card are all reachable from the front of the cabinet, with no need to get behind the wall. This also affects the mounting: the cabinets sit on wall brackets or a pre-fitted frame, with no service corridor. Pixel density drives the port count: at P0.9 one square metre is around 1.14 million pixels, so one gigabit port carries less than half a square metre; at P1.5 it is 1.5 m², and at P2.5, 4 m². A 6 m² P0.9 control room wall therefore calls for 11 ports — MX40 Pro or Colorlight X16 Pro level.
WHEN IT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE
It is worthwhile on indoor, wall-mounted installations, or ones with no rear access, where all maintenance has to be possible from the front — TV studios, control rooms, meeting rooms.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
The product currently lives on the French regional sub-site rather than on the main English domain — it is worth confirming current availability directly with the manufacturer or the reseller before purchase.
The UpanelS in practice
The redundant power and signal path only works if it is genuinely run on two separate routes: the second branch of the loop has to come from another sending port or a second sender, otherwise the duplication exists only on paper. Installation starts with levelling the row of wall brackets; at this pixel pitch even a 0.3 mm step is visible, so the cabinets' adjusting screws have to be set one by one, checked against a reflective surface or in raking light. Module replacement is from the front with a suction-cup lifter, one or two minutes without tools; the calibration data stays on the receiving card, so a replaced module has to be re-measured. In a control room, where the wall runs 24/7, 3% spare modules and a spare power supply is a realistic stock.
Alternatives to the UpanelS
If a COB surface is needed (cleanability, impact resistance), the sister Unilumin UMiniIII Pro or the LianTronics VMQ belongs here. If it is in fact possible to get behind the wall and the power supplies are to go into a rack, the Leyard DirectLight gives a better solution. With a larger, factory-aligned cabinet, the Leyard TWA speeds up the installation. For events and frequent moving, none of them: the Unilumin Upad IV or the Esdlumen Pilot Pro rental cabinet is the option there.

On its own the UpanelS is a component. With us it works inside these displays — design, manufacturing and installation included.
