In short

A slim, light, IP69K outdoor SMD LED cabinet with 10 000 nit brightness for use in direct sunlight.

Usurface III Pro LED module and cabinet

The Usurface III Pro is a member of Unilumin's outdoor, fixed-installation SMD LED cabinet family, primarily for advertising surfaces, façade displays and large outdoor screens. The cabinet measures 800×900×97 mm, is made of profile aluminium, and weighs 29 kg per square metre.

It is available in three pixel pitch versions (6.67 / 8.33 / 10 mm), with custom SMD2727 type LED lamps that provide 10 000 nit peak brightness and a 16 000:1 contrast ratio — resulting in a picture that is clearly visible even in direct sunlight. The IP69K rating is specifically for extreme outdoor, wet and dusty environments, with an operating temperature range from -40°C to +60°C.

The cabinet is serviceable from both front and rear. Average power consumption is 217 W/m², and the maximum is 650 W/m².

Where the Usurface III Pro sits in an LED wall system

The 800×900 mm cabinet is bolted to a steel or aluminium support grid and sits on a façade bracket; servicing works from the front and from the rear, so either a rear walkway or a cherry picker is sufficient. A P6.67 cabinet is 120×135 = 16 200 pixels, so 40 cabinets — roughly 29 m² of wall — fit on one gigabit port; at P10, 90 cabinets and 65 m². Even a 100 m² street sign therefore fits on four ports: the design constraint is not the pixel count but the power supply, because at an average consumption of 217 W/m², 100 m² already means around 22 kW average and 65 kW peak power.

WHEN IT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE

On outdoor, fixed-installation advertising displays, where the screen has to be clearly visible in direct sunlight while remaining durable against rain and dust.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

Because of the relatively coarse pixel pitch starting at 6.67 mm it is not ideal for close viewing; the viewing distance has to be matched to the pixel pitch.

The Usurface III Pro in practice

IP69K is a rating sized for high-pressure, hot water jet washing — but only with intact seals: the module seals and the rubber of the rear cover have to be refitted at every service, and a misaligned seal will destroy the receiving card within a few rainy weeks. The -40 to +60 °C operating range applies to the cabinet, whereas the power supply's lifespan falls with the internal temperature, so limiting the brightness in summer is a question of lifespan, not aesthetics. During installation, the 65 kW peak calls for a phase-balanced supply and surge protection. Module replacement uses screw fixing and tools, 5–10 minutes per cabinet; the calibration data stays on the receiving card. Spares: 2–3% modules, plus a power supply.

Alternatives to the Usurface III Pro

If the sign can also be viewed from close up (a shopfront, a pedestrian zone), 6.67 mm is too coarse — the Absen AW Series (2.5–3.9 mm, IP65) is the right step there. For a mobile outdoor event wall, the Gloshine CB MAX or the outdoor cabinet version of the INFiLED ER is the option. For a single, standalone advertising surface with no control room and no structured cabling, the outdoor build of the Desay Smart LED Poster is a plug-and-play alternative.
