Huidu HD-A3L asynchronous LED controller
The HD-A3L is the entry-level member of Huidu's full-colour LED controller family, with a load capacity of 655,360 pixels (max. 8192×3840 pixels), 16 GB of memory and external storage expandable to 128 GB. It supports 4K hardware video decoding at 60 Hz, along with 100 Mbps LAN, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and an optional 4G/5G module.
The unit can display video, images, text and animation, as well as live streaming media and weather data, and is operated through Huidu's HDPlayer software and app. Its typical field of use is the smaller shopfront or information board, where the capacity of the larger HD-A4L/A6L models would be superfluous.
Where the HD-A3L sits in an LED wall system
An entry-level all-in-one: the picture starting from the 16 GB of internal storage (expandable to 128 GB with external storage) reaches the receiving cards — typically a Huidu HD-R512T — over a single gigabit LED output on Cat5e/Cat6, and then the modules over HUB75E. The 655,360 pixel load capacity is roughly one gigabit port's worth, typically 2–5 receiving cards. Content is uploaded by the HDPlayer PC software or its companion mobile app over LAN, Wi-Fi, a USB drive or an optional 4G/5G module; remote supervision comes from the manufacturer's XiaoHui Cloud platform. The wall's physical layout (scan mode, HUB order) is set up in the HDSet program.
WHEN IT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE
For smaller commercial asynchronous displays where a load capacity of 655,360 pixels is enough and a lower entry price matters.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
The LAN speed here is 100 Mbps (not gigabit), which can be a bottleneck with larger, frequently refreshed content.
The HD-A3L in practice
At first switch-on the card opens a Wi-Fi access point, the installer connects to it with a phone or laptop, and HDPlayer recognises it; changing the factory SSID and password is the first job, because on an outdoor display this is the most common security hole. Next come the time zone and time synchronisation, then brightness: HDPlayer supports both a timed brightness profile and light sensor automation, outdoors typically between 100% by day and 15–25% at night. The 100 Mbps LAN is a real limitation here: uploading a video of several gigabytes takes long minutes, so large material is better loaded from a USB drive than sent over the network. Content has to be rendered in advance to the wall's exact pixel dimensions. If the internet drops, the downloaded programme carries on and only cloud updates and status reporting stop; when a card is replaced, the programme, the schedule and the network settings are lost, but the receiving cards' configuration is not.
Alternatives to the HD-A3L
If a live HDMI source may also come into play, the HD-A4L gives the same pixel count in dual-mode operation and with gigabit LAN. For a larger wall, the HD-A6L (approx. 2,600,000 px, 4 LED ports), and for a high-resolution advertising board, the HD-A7. If the wall is small and you would rather not buy separate receiving cards, the HD-C16L's 12 HUB75E ports drive the modules directly. In other ecosystems the NovaStar Taurus TB30 is its direct counterpart, with a stronger cloud back end (VNNOX). For a live video signal or a camera, a synchronous sender and a permanent source are needed instead of an asynchronous card.
