The C16C-WIFI suits smaller shop-window signs, interior walls of retail units and restaurant menu boards best, where viewers typically pass the sign on foot at a distance of 2–5 metres. The pixel pitch of the modules it drives is optimised for that viewing distance: viewed closer up the pixel grid is visible, but at normal use distance that is not a concern, since the purpose of the sign is to catch the eye, not to deliver print-quality detail. If you want the sign to be visible to drivers on a busy road from 10–15 metres, it is worth choosing our larger, coarser pixel pitch modules and the higher-capacity D05+WiFi or E62 card. We recommend it to small businesses, salons, cafés and reception desks, where the point is fast, inexpensive commissioning and simple day-to-day content changes, not technical maximalism.
Wireless convenience and how commissioning works
The biggest advantage of the C16C-WIFI is that refreshing the content requires no physical access to the card: as soon as the phone and the controller are on the Wi-Fi network, you can simply upload new text, an image or a simple animation from the app. During initial setup you enter the Wi-Fi network details in the phone app, pairing takes a few minutes, and the choice of typeface, colour, speed and effect also happens in the app. This is especially useful at locations where the sign is hard to reach, high on a facade for instance. The card's pixel capacity reaches roughly 256×64 pixels in full-colour mode, which is ample for logos, lettering and simpler graphic elements, but we do not recommend it for continuous video.
