How to choose size and resolution
The two most important factors when choosing size and pixel resolution are reading distance and the type of content to be shown. A short message of a few words or a number needs only a small board; more detailed graphics or video call for a larger surface and a finer pixel pitch. Indoors, where viewers typically read the sign from 2–5 metres, P2–P4 is recommended; for outdoor, street-front placement that must be visible from 10–30 metres, P6–P10 is the economical choice. The same rule of thumb applies: 1 mm of pixel pitch corresponds to roughly 2.5–3 metres of comfortable minimum viewing distance.
Single-colour, dual-colour or full-colour?
For plain text — opening hours, queue numbers, prices — a single-colour board is perfectly adequate and the most cost-effective solution. How does installation work?

Many people order an RGB board for content that is really only text or numbers — that raises the cost unnecessarily while the effect would be the same from a dual-colour or even single-colour board. Another frequent mistake is underestimating size: if the text runs to too many characters on a small surface, the character height becomes unreadably small. Choosing an indoor version for outdoor placement is also a classic error, because it will not survive UV exposure and rain. Finally, many underestimate how simple content management is: with well-chosen software, a daily content update is a few minutes' work and needs no specialist.
