It does not have to reach a large crowd but a narrower, closer audience – so the most important consideration is not brightness or size but flexibility: it can be moved at any time, taken to another event, and needs no drilling and no specialist to set up. The unit uses RGB full-colour LEDs at 800 cd/m², which is perfectly readable indoors under artificial light – that brightness range matches the industry indoor guideline (600–1000 cd/m²) exactly. Control is through the free iOS/Android app over the Bluetooth 4.0 protocol, within a range of about 10 metres; behind a wall or glass the range may fall. Power comes from a 230 V AC supply or from an optional built-in battery: 3–4 hours of running time at full brightness, 5–6 hours at half brightness, which is enough for a half-day event; for a full day a double-capacity battery can be ordered. The sign stores eight different message profiles, which can be switched manually or on a timer.

Operation is so simple that it calls for no technical background at all: if you can send a text message on your phone, you will be able to handle this sign confidently too, changing the colour and the effect in real time with the change appearing on the display immediately. Consumption is negligible, typically in the range of a few tens of watts, so running it from the mains has effectively no perceptible effect on the electricity bill.
