In short

The A3 is our smallest and simplest asynchronous control card, recommended for single-colour and dual-colour LED signs up to roughly 256×64 pixels and for smaller scrolling signs. You upload the content once from a phone app, after which the card plays it on its own, with no computer and no internet, around the clock if need be. It comes with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty and is built from selected, quality components, not no-name parts from mixed batches. Installing and operating it can be learnt in 10–15 minutes with no technical background, and the training is part of the handover. If you only change the text on a smaller display occasionally, a few times a month, this is the most cost-effective yet dependable way into LED.

Indoor and outdoor

LED wall controller A3

The A3 controller is made for anyone who wants to run a smaller single-colour or dual-colour scrolling sign independently, without involving a computer. The card is compact, easy to fit inside the sign's housing, and gives stable, reliable operation even in 24-hour daily use. You upload the content through a mobile phone app; from then on the card plays the material stored in its memory continuously and on its own, resuming automatically after a power cut. It is ideal for smaller shops, restaurants and service businesses that want to show a simple text or graphic message that can be refreshed quickly. Although this is the smallest member of our entry-level range, it comes with the same selected components and the same service backing as its larger siblings.

Who the A3 controller is for

We recommend the A3 above all to anyone running a smaller single-colour or dual-colour LED sign, up to roughly 256×64 pixels, who has no need for complex, multi-module, full-colour display. Typical uses are an entrance scrolling sign, a board advertising opening hours or a promotion, or a simple message board in a corner shop, a hair salon or a restaurant. The card needs no permanent computer support: you upload the content once and the controller replays it in a loop without interruption, even after a power cut, because the content is held in internal memory. If you only swap the text occasionally, a few times a month, this is the most cost-effective and easiest to handle solution in our range, and a perfect way in for those getting to know LED technology who want to try a smaller sign before committing to a larger investment.

Uploading and day-to-day use

Content is managed through a phone app: you connect to the card over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, then assemble the text, simple graphic or animation you want to show, and set the speed, the effect and any scheduling. Once uploaded, the card carries on playing the content on its own after the connection drops, so no phone or computer has to stay switched on. In the app you can programme several messages that appear in turn, and you can schedule which text runs at which time of day. The saying holds: if you can write an email, you can operate this controller — at handover we always show you on site how to upload and schedule content, so the first use causes no trouble either.

Why this is not "cheap Chinese junk"

Many buyers are put off by the fear that an entry-level, keenly priced controller is built from poor components and will fail quickly. That is not the case with the A3: we fit selected components from the same production batch, and every card passes quality control before dispatch. The card carries a 1-year manufacturer's warranty with service backing behind it — if a problem does arise, the part is available immediately from regional stock and the swap typically takes minutes, with no weeks of waiting for a delivery from abroad. The entry-level A3 is entitled to that backing just as much as our larger, more complex systems: quality depends not on the price bracket but on who you buy from.

When it is worth moving up a class

The A3 comfortably serves a smaller sign, but if your planned display is wider or taller than that, or if you also want to show longer scrolling texts or a simple logo animation, the A4 or the A5 is the better choice — they have greater pixel capacity and a larger buffer. And if the aim is not a scrolling sign but full-colour, video-type display, that calls for our higher-class HUB75 module-based systems. We help you decide which class fits your sign size and your goals with a free site survey, so that you neither pay for a needlessly over-specified controller nor run into a capacity shortfall a few months later.

LED wall controller A3 — frequently asked questions

Does it need a computer for everyday operation?

No. You upload the content once through the phone app, after which the card plays it on its own without interruption, with no computer and no permanent internet connection.

What size of sign is the A3 recommended for?

It is ideal for smaller single-colour or dual-colour scrolling signs up to roughly 256×64 pixels, where there is no need for a high pixel count or full-colour display.

What is the warranty, and what happens if it fails?

We give a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. In the event of a failure there is service backing behind it, the part is available from regional stock, and the swap can typically be done in minutes.

Who fits it, and how long does it take?

We carry out the fitting and the initial training ourselves, which typically takes 15–20 minutes and is part of the handover, at no extra charge.

Can it be extended to a larger sign later?

The A3 serves a sign up to a given capacity; if your display grows, it is worth moving to the A4 or A5 controller, and we help with that through a free site survey.

Will it stand up to the weather outdoors?

Yes — provided the LED sign's housing gives adequate protection against rain and temperature swings, the A3 runs reliably in both outdoor and indoor positions.
