In short

The A4 is the middle member of the entry-level range, with capacity up to roughly 384×96 pixels, which is why we recommend it for mid-sized scrolling signs and simpler lettered boards. The card works on the asynchronous principle, so it plays the uploaded content on its own without a computer, resuming automatically even after a power cut. It is easy to handle from a phone app, and swapping the text or graphic takes 2–3 minutes. It comes with a 1-year warranty, service backing and spare parts held in regional stock, so you are not left alone with a failure. For retail units, office buildings and mid-sized advertising boards this offers the best value for money in the range.

Indoor and outdoor

LED wall controller A4

The A4 control card is recommended for anyone for whom the A3's capacity would already be tight, but who does not yet want to step into the price bracket of the larger full-colour systems. With a resolution reach of roughly 384×96 pixels, the card can display longer texts and more detailed simple animations while keeping all the advantages of asynchronous operation: the content is held in the card's memory, so it resumes playback automatically after a power cut. It is an ideal choice for mid-sized business signs where content has to be refreshed regularly but not continuously. As the middle member of the range, this is the point at which most of our customers find a comfortable balance between capacity and price.

When to choose the A4 over the A3

If your planned sign is wider or taller than the A3 comfortably serves — that is, beyond the roughly 256×64 pixel limit — or if you also want to show longer, continuously scrolling texts or simpler logo animations, the A4 is the logical step. The capacity of roughly 384×96 pixels lets you show several lines of text at once, or more detailed graphic elements, without the display looking overcrowded. The A4 is still made primarily for single-colour or dual-colour signs, so if you want full-colour, video-type display, it is better to choose from our higher-class HUB75 module-based cards. For retail units, office building receptions and mid-sized advertising boards the A4 offers excellent value, and this is the size chosen by the widest group of buyers who want a more substantial sign that is not yet a professional installation.

Handling and maintenance

Setting up the controller and uploading content are done through the accompanying phone app, where you can tailor the text, the typeface, the colour, the speed and the display effect. Once connected, the app downloads the new content to the card, which then plays it continuously and entirely on its own, with no phone or computer present. You can programme several messages in sequence, and schedule the display by time of day — a different text can run in the morning than in the afternoon. If you can write an email on your phone, you will handle this interface confidently too: at handover we go through the upload procedure with you live, and this training is always included in the price, at no extra charge.

Reliability: not the cheapest, but the safest

With mid-range controllers a common buyer's fear is that a no-name card assembled from mixed production batches will run unevenly over time or fail early. To avoid that, the A4 is also built from a single, selected batch of components, and every unit is dispatched only after quality control. The card carries a 1-year manufacturer's warranty with service backing behind it: if any problem arises, the part is available immediately from regional stock and the swap is typically a matter of minutes, not weeks. That means a failure does not mean days of closing the shop, but a short, plannable service visit.

When it is worth moving on

The A4 comfortably serves most mid-sized single-colour or dual-colour signs, but if your display is larger still, or you want to handle several frequently alternating messages at once, it is worth choosing the A5 within the range. And if your aim is full-colour, even video-type display, that calls for our HUB75 module-based systems. During a free site survey we look at the planned size of the sign and the type of content to be shown, and on that basis we recommend the class you genuinely need — neither under-specified nor over-specified.

LED wall controller A4 — frequently asked questions

How does the A4 differ from the A3?

The A4 has a capacity of up to roughly 384×96 pixels, making it suitable for mid-sized signs, longer texts and more detailed simple animations, whereas the A3 is recommended for smaller displays up to roughly 256×64 pixels.

Can it be used outdoors as well?

Yes — provided the LED sign's housing gives adequate weather protection, the A4 controller works reliably in both outdoor and indoor positions.

How many messages can I programme at once?

In the app you can assemble several messages that appear one after another on the sign, alternating by time of day if you schedule them.

What is the warranty, and is there service backing behind it?

We give a 1-year manufacturer's warranty, with service backing and spare parts held in regional stock, so in the event of a failure the swap can typically be done in minutes.

Who trains us to use it?

At handover we demonstrate how to use the phone app; the training is always part of the handover, with no separate charge.

When is it worth moving to the A5 or a higher class?

If your sign exceeds the comfortable range of roughly 384×96 pixels, or you want to handle several alternating messages, the A5 is the next step, and for full-colour requirements our HUB75 module-based cards — we pin this down with a free site survey.
