In short

Windows network management software for Colorlight's cloud- and LAN-based media players (A100, A200, C6 Pro, C7 Pro, A2K, A4K and so on).

Colorlight PlayerMaster LED wall software

PlayerMaster is the integrated network management software for Colorlight's asynchronous devices (those that play content independently): unified supervision of LAN and cloud mode players, programme publishing, password and LAN encryption settings. The newer versions also gained security improvements (LAN encryption, password reset) and a multilingual interface, including Japanese.

In the Colorlight ecosystem it fills the role that ViPlex Express does on the NovaStar side and HDPlayer on the Huidu side — so it is responsible not for the physical configuration of the panel but for the content running on it and for network access to it.

Where the PlayerMaster sits in an LED wall system

PlayerMaster works on the content side: the Windows machine reaches the asynchronous players (A100, A200, C6 Pro, C7 Pro, A2K, A4K, A500, AX06, AX08) over the LAN or through Colorlight's cloud, and uploads the programme to the player's internal storage. The player is also a sending card: from there the Cat6 runs to the receiving cards in the cabinets, with no external video signal. The panel's physical parameters — cabinet file, tiling, calibration — are not set by this program but by LEDSETTING or iSet, so one installation needs at least two Colorlight programs.

WHEN IT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE

On Colorlight-based systems that play content independently (not built around a continuous video signal), where content upload and network supervision of the players have to be handled from one desktop program.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

It is only compatible with the supported asynchronous player series; physical panel configuration (tiling, calibration) still needs LEDSETTING or iSet.

The PlayerMaster in practice

The sequence: discover the players on the LAN or add them to the cloud account, assemble a programme with zones, publish it to the selected devices, and finally schedule it. The newer releases brought LAN encryption and password reset: on a live installation the factory password has to be changed, because discovery shows the device to anyone on the local network. One pitfall is that cloud and LAN mode are different workflows, and a device can only be managed comfortably in one of them at a time. The other is that uploading a large video file over a wireless connection takes a long time, and an interrupted transfer has to be started again. There is no Hungarian interface; English, Japanese and Chinese are available.

Alternatives to the PlayerMaster

If the wall receives a live video signal, this is not what is needed but LEDSETTING or iSet alongside the processor. On NovaStar hardware the equivalent is ViPlex Express, and on the Huidu side HDPlayer. For multi-site, permission-managed, template-driven content management, however, all three manufacturer programs fall short: Xibo, Yodeck or OptiSigns gives a ready-made framework there, in exchange for having to replace the playback device with a general signage player as well.
