Linsn TS802D LED wall controller
The TS802D is one of Linsn's longest-serving classic sending cards, able to drive single-colour, dual-colour and full-colour LED displays alike. According to the official specification it handles up to 1,310,720 pixels per card (max. 4032 pixels wide, 2048 pixels high), has a DVI video input, an audio input and USB configuration, and up to 4 cards can be cascaded.
The TS802D is one of the most widespread sending cards on the market and is supplied as standard with many Chinese-made LED modules, which makes it particularly common in replacement and compatibility questions.
Where the TS802D sits in an LED wall system
A sending card fitted inside a computer: it takes power from the machine's slot or from a separate 5 V supply (2.5 W rated consumption), and the picture from the graphics card's DVI output. Cat5e/Cat6 runs from the two RJ45 ports to the Linsn receiving cards (RV901, RV908M32), then on to the HUB card and the module. Setup is done from LEDStudio over a USB cable; writing the receiving card parameters is LEDSet's job. A Linsn sender only works with Linsn receiving cards.
WHEN IT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE
On existing displays fitted with Linsn-based LED modules, where a simple, well-known and widely supported sending card is what is needed.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
An older product line; on a larger, higher-resolution project a newer Linsn series (the TS902, for instance) or another manufacturer's higher-capacity card may become necessary.
The TS802D in practice
The 1,310,720 pixels per card are shared between the two ports, and a single port cannot carry more than 655,360 pixels — the source of the most common design error. The specification gives a concrete resolution table: in 60 Hz mode two ports will carry 2048×640, 1920×672 or 1280×1024, for instance, while in 30 Hz mode 4032×512 or 3840×544 is also possible, which means an extremely long ribbon wall is achieved by halving the refresh rate. The graphics card also has to support the resolution; for an ultra-long or ultra-tall picture the manufacturer specifies a GTX 1050-class card or better. When replacing a receiving card, allow for the fact that the board layout of RV901/RV908 variants sold under the same name can differ between production batches, which makes a non-factory firmware update unreliable.
Alternatives to the TS802D
If the wall exceeds 1.3 million pixels or a 4K source is required, the TS902 (4 ports, 2.6 million pixels) is the step to take within Linsn. If the system needs replacing anyway, the NovaStar MCTRL300 or the Colorlight S2 gets fresher software support at a similar price — but the receiving cards then have to be replaced as well, and that is the real cost. For operation without a PC, a Taurus TB30 or a Huidu HD-A4L.

TS802D: what users report
A concise summary of experiences published in public professional forums and communities. Not our opinion, and not a quotation — the source is always available.
The community engaged in hardware reverse-engineering of Linsn receiving cards (the RV901/RV908, which work with the TS802D sending card) points out that card variants sold under the same name can differ in board layout and JTAG access between production batches, which makes home-brew (non-factory) firmware updating unreliable.

On its own the Linsn TS802D is a component. With us it works inside these displays — design, manufacturing and installation included.
