In short

With a 4 mm pixel pitch, ≥4500 cd/m² brightness and 8000:1 contrast, the P4 outdoor module is a favourite for larger advertising walls facing roads and squares, from a viewing distance of around 10–12 metres. Because of the rear maintenance build, the facade is neither damaged nor disfigured during maintenance. With IP65 protection and a -20 to +60 °C temperature range it runs stably all year round. Its average consumption is 271 W/m² (814 W/m² at peak), with a 100,000-hour service life and a favourable price per square metre on larger surfaces.

LED module P4 outdoor – SMD 4500 nit

The P4 outdoor module is for larger advertising walls designed to be seen not from the kerbside but from some distance, typically from the road or a square: a shopping centre facade visible from the car park, a roadside company sign, an advertising surface on a larger square. Compared with P3, the 4 mm pixel pitch means a larger pixel size but a proportionally lower unit price and consumption — on large surfaces, where the number of modules multiplies, that makes a real difference in cost. The ≥4500 cd/m² brightness and the 8000:1 contrast again ensure good readability in direct sunlight, while the rear maintenance build allows servicing from the back, without breaking into the front of the wall. The IP65 protection and the -20 to +60 °C operating temperature range guarantee reliable operation throughout the year.

A larger surface, a greater viewing distance

The P4 outdoor module is for situations where the viewing distance is typically 10–12 metres or more — an advertising wall seen from a car park, a road or a square, or the facade of a shopping or retail centre, where the audience typically views the display from a car or from pedestrian traffic further off. At that distance the extra detail of the finer P3 or P2.5 pitch no longer registers visually, while the larger pixel size makes the modules, the control electronics and the consumption more favourable in cost. On large surfaces of many square metres that difference amounts to a serious sum at the level of both the total investment and the annual running cost.

Brightness and contrast: readable from a distance too

The ≥4500 cd/m² brightness and the 8000:1 contrast ratio ensure that the content stays readable and sharp from a greater distance, even viewed from a moving car, without blurring into the background or the sunlight. Automatic brightness control fine-tunes the output to match the time of day, so it does not dazzle at night and does not wash out by day. The 3840–7680 Hz refresh range stays flicker-free when recorded on camera, an important consideration when showing advertising films and brand content on a wall at a larger, busy location.

Rear maintenance: convenient servicing on a large wall

The P4 outdoor module — like the P3 — is serviced from the rear: to replace a faulty module the technician works from the protected back of the wall, without breaking into the facade front. On large walls made up of many modules this matters especially, because maintenance then does not disturb the wall's continuous, undisturbed operation or its appearance. The dual HUB75 signal interface (2 ports) gives redundant signal transmission, one of the foundations of stability on large-format, business-critical walls — a fault on one signal cable does not bring the whole system down at once.

Running costs and consents on large walls

Average consumption is 271 W/m² and 814 W/m² at peak — on a large surface of several dozen square metres that figure is the basis for planning the monthly running cost in advance, which we always present with a concrete worked example after the site survey. For larger advertising walls visible from public space, the question of a public-space use permit and a townscape notification is particularly important — we help with that whole process, from the documentation to the submission. The 100,000-hour service life and the Warranty+ package with local spare parts supply ensure that a large investment stays predictable over the long term.

LED module P4 outdoor – SMD 4500 nit — frequently asked questions

Why choose P4 rather than P3?

If viewers typically see the wall from 10–12 metres or further — from a road or a car park, for instance — P4 gives the same visual experience as the finer P3, but with a more favourable unit price and consumption on larger surfaces.

Does the content stay readable from a car?

Yes — the ≥4500 cd/m² brightness and the 8000:1 contrast are designed specifically so that the content stays sharp and readable from a moving car and at greater distances, without blurring into the background.

What does it cost to run a large P4 wall?

Average consumption is 271 W/m² and 814 W/m² at peak — after the site survey we present an estimate of the monthly electricity bill for your specific wall with a concrete worked example.

At a large, busy location, does servicing disturb the traffic?

No — the module is serviced from the rear, so the technician replaces modules from the protected back of the wall, without disturbing the facade or the traffic.

Who handles the consents for a larger advertising wall?

We help through the public-space use permit and townscape notification process, from the site survey to compiling the documentation, so you do not have to navigate the official procedure alone.
