In short

The P1.86 module is the most energy-efficient member of the fine-pitch GOB series: with a 1.86 mm pixel pitch and a resolution of 288,906 pixels/m² it gives a perfect picture from a viewing distance of 4.5–5.5 metres. Average consumption is only 181 W/m² (543 W/m² at peak) — around 22 per cent less than P1.25, which on walls running many hours a day means significant annual savings on the electricity bill. The GOB casting again gives an impact-, dust- and moisture-resistant, homogeneous surface, and the module is front serviceable. Brightness of ≥500 cd/m², 5000:1 contrast and 14-bit greyscale guarantee smooth, premium image quality.

LED module P1.86 indoor – GOB

The P1.86 module is ideal for projects where the wall runs many hours a day and the energy cost over its lifetime matters at least as much as the purchase price. The pitch of 1.86 mm still gives a fine picture suitable for close and mid-range viewing, while consumption falls significantly — by close to a fifth — against P1.25. The advantages of GOB technology — a homogeneous, scratch-resistant surface, front serviceability, impact and moisture protection — apply to this module just the same. Bin-matched selection of quality SMD1515 LED chips ensures that the wall stays uniform years after commissioning. In larger control rooms, more spacious meeting rooms, studios and event stage backdrop walls, this module gives the best balance of picture, consumption and price.

Energy efficiency with a fine pitch

The P1.86 module's average consumption is 181 W/m², close to 22 per cent lower than P1.25 and meaningfully lower than P1.53 as well — on a full white image the peak is 543 W/m², against P1.25's 694 W/m². On a wall of several square metres running 10–12 hours a day, that difference makes for a clearly measurable annual saving on the electricity bill, without viewers losing anything in image sharpness at the intended viewing distance. One of the common buyer's mistakes in the LED industry is choosing an unnecessarily fine pitch for a space that does not warrant it — P1.86 is aimed precisely at situations where the real viewing distance does not justify the luxury of P1.25.

Who the 4.5–5.5 metre viewing distance suits

As a rule of thumb the comfortable minimum viewing distance is 2.5–3 metres per 1 mm of pitch, so for P1.86 that is around 4.5–5.5 metres — a range that covers exactly the typical layout of larger control rooms, more spacious meeting rooms, conference halls and studios, where the viewer does not sit directly in front of the wall. On event stage backdrop walls, where most of the audience looks up from a few metres away, this pitch gives excellent image quality without the cost of the finest (and most expensive) pitch. If you are unsure whether P1.53 or P1.86 suits the space better, at the free site survey we measure the actual viewing distances and light conditions precisely and recommend the pitch on that basis.

GOB protection and bin-matched colour

On the P1.86 module too, GOB technology provides the basic protection: the SMD1515 LED chips are cast into a transparent, hard layer of resin, which gives a homogeneous, smooth surface and physical resistance to impact, dust and moisture. There are no protruding components that cleaning or an accidental knock could ruin, and the panel can be opened from the front, so replacing a faulty module needs no reaching behind the wall. The LED chips are selected by production batch, so there is no perceptible colour difference between modules either at the start or months later — this is our answer to the legitimate fear that a panel bought from an unchecked source goes patchy over time.

Installation and long-term operation

The HUB75 signal interface is compatible with widely available control cards, which simplifies both extending the system and servicing it. The rated service life of the LED chips is 100,000 operating hours, which even at 10–12 hours a day means 20+ years before the brightness would fall to half its original level. Installation and training are carried out by our own team, control is from a phone app or the cloud, and with a Warranty+ package the wall can be maintained beyond the manufacturer's warranty, with spare parts supplied locally.

LED module P1.86 indoor – GOB — frequently asked questions

How much more economical is P1.86 than P1.25?

About 22 per cent more economical in average consumption (181 W/m² instead of 231 W/m²), and 543 W/m² instead of 694 W/m² at peak — on a wall running many hours a day that makes for a clearly measurable annual saving.

From what distance is this pitch recommended?

It gives a perfectly smooth picture from a viewing distance of around 4.5–5.5 metres, which is why we recommend it for larger meeting rooms, conference halls and stage backdrop walls, where the fineness of P1.25 would no longer register.

Is this as impact-resistant as the finer pitches?

Yes, it is protected by the same GOB casting: the LEDs are cast into a transparent layer of resin that gives a homogeneous, scratch-resistant surface against impact, dust and moisture, and the panel is front serviceable.

Does it need a special controller?

No — the HUB75 signal interface is compatible with widely available control cards, which allows simpler expansion and faster servicing, and you are not confined to a single manufacturer's closed system.

How long does a wall like this last?

The rated service life of the LED chips is 100,000 operating hours, which even at 10–12 hours a day means more than 20 years of operation before the brightness would fall to half its original level.
