The 320×450 cm P2.5 wall was made for the larger spaces where the viewing distance is naturally several metres: the stand of a sports hall, the plenary hall of a conference centre, a larger event venue. From that distance the image of a P2.5 pixel pitch is indistinguishable from the denser build, while the investment is noticeably better – which is why it is often the optimal choice on mid-range hall projects. The near-square ratio composes well: a single large image or a zoned scores–statistics–advertising layout both work on it. A large surface on a sober budget

A 14.4 m² surface is a serious visual presence – dominant from the stand and from the back row of a plenary hall. The question at that point is not whether a wall this size is needed but at what pixel pitch: by the 1 mm ≈ 2.5–3 m rule of thumb, a P2.5 image is continuous from 2.5 metres and comfortable from 6 metres, and in a hall or a large room even the nearest spectator is typically further away than that. The extra cost of a denser pixel pitch would remain invisible here – so at this size P2.5 is not a compromise but sizing accuracy. The budget freed up typically funds the control, the content production or a second, smaller display.

The resolution is 1280×1800 px at a density of 400 px/m; the surface can be divided into several independent zones with the control software, so live scores, statistics and sponsor content can run in parallel. Brightness above 600 cd/m² gives a high-contrast image even under strong hall lighting, and the refresh rate above 6000 Hz is free of banding on multi-camera live relays and slow-motion replays. Consumption and handling day to day

Real consumption stays far below the peak: with mixed content it averages below 147 W/m², about 2.1 kW for the whole wall – the electricity for a match day or a conference day comes to roughly 15–20 kWh, a few euros. Control runs over Wi-Fi or LAN from a central desk: content changes, zone management and timed switching on and off can be handled remotely. Day-to-day operation needs no engineer – if you can write an email, you can handle this – and training the operating team is part of the handover. If a question arises, phone support is available, not a foreign ticketing system.

Installation, extension, payback

Because the cabinets arrive pre-built and calibrated, on-site installation including the support structure and commissioning typically takes 2–3 days; an indoor wall needs no official consent, and we clear up the structural questions at the free site survey. The quote is itemised: modules, control, support structure, installation. The surface can be extended later with bin-matched cabinets of the same pixel pitch. Why choose P2.5 instead of P2 at this size?

At this surface area the price difference from pixel density is significant, while from the several-metre viewing distance of a hall the difference in image quality is effectively imperceptible – P2.5 here is sizing accuracy, not a compromise.

Can it be used for camera capture of a live sports relay?

Yes. Because of the refresh rate above 6000 Hz, no flicker or banding appears on a live relay or a slow-motion replay.

What is its actual energy consumption in daily use?
