Global Truss F34 Square Truss LED wall infrastructure
The F34 is Global Truss's larger-section and therefore higher-capacity square truss profile, used on larger, heavier LED wall segments or over longer spans, where the load capacity of the lighter F14 profile would no longer be sufficient. Alongside the straight segments of the truss, the manufacturer also offers corner junctions, discs and other fixing elements for modular assembly of the system.
On larger, outdoor or longer-span LED wall projects, the truss choice has to take wind load into account as well as the weight of the modules — a large-area outdoor LED wall presents a significant wind (sail) area, which can generate substantial lateral and upward forces, and this has to be handled with a structural calculation when designing the truss system and the fixings.
Where the F34 Square Truss sits in an LED wall system
It has the same place in the system as the lighter profiles — between the cabinets and the load-bearing structure — but because of the 290×290 mm section it bridges a greater span with fewer supports, which makes it the realistic choice for a larger, continuous LED surface. The corner elements, base plates and clamps that go with it come from the same system: the section and the junction design are manufacturer-specific, and another manufacturer's element cannot automatically be fitted into it.

On larger, heavier LED wall segments or longer-span suspensions, where the load capacity of the lighter truss profiles is no longer sufficient.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
On large-area outdoor LED walls the wind load (the wall as a sail area) is often a greater risk than the static weight — the truss and fixing system has to be sized for this separately, with an expert structural calculation, not just on the basis of the modules' mass.
The F34 Square Truss in practice
On a large-area outdoor wall the wind load dominates: a closed-surface LED wall behaves like a sail, and the horizontal force acting on it can easily exceed its own weight — so ballasting the base plates and guying are often a bigger item than the truss itself. This is what the customer has to ask about in advance: up to what wind speed the wall may be operated, and at how many km/h it has to be shut down or dismantled. At an event this also appears in the contract, and it is the site manager's job to enforce it. During rigging, the order of fixing and the use of safety cables are a requirement, not an option.
Alternatives to the F34 Square Truss
If the wall is small and light, the F34 is unnecessary: it is heavier, more expensive, and takes up more room in transport — the F14 or an intermediate profile is enough there. On a fixed installation, a steel bracket frame fixed to the building structure is usually cheaper and builds flatter. And on a very large, permanent outdoor wall, the right solution is no longer truss but a custom-designed steel structure sized by a structural engineer.
