Sports and software templates
Which sports does it come with software templates for?
The supplied software includes ready-made templates for football, basketball, handball, volleyball, ice hockey and tennis. A template holds the layout scheme for the score, the clock, the team name and the team logo. For a sport outside that list the template can be customised, so the display sequence can be adapted to water polo, floorball or school competitions with a few clicks, without any IT expertise.
Control options
How is the scoreboard operated during a match?
It is controlled from a dedicated physical control panel box – a button-operated control unit – placed on the announcer's or the referee's table. It can also be operated from a PC through the software, and optionally from a Bluetooth remote. The manual timing function runs on its own without an external signal, so a power cut or a network fault does not bring match control to a halt – the panel can be kept running with a simple press of a button.
Quality and reliability in a sports environment
A scoreboard at a sports venue has to work accurately and reliably for several hours a day, often in rain, in cold weather or in blazing sunshine, which makes a quality LED chip and genuine IP65 outdoor protection particularly important here. The components of the panel – LED modules, controller card, power supply – are available from stock, so a failure does not mean weeks out of action in the middle of a league season. The modules can also be released from the front, so a damaged unit can be swapped quickly without closing the pitch. Operation, power draw and installation
Thanks to the full-colour RGB LEDs the P5 scoreboard draws a moderate, average amount of power with typical match content, and the built-in photocell or software brightness control adapts automatically to the time of day, which reduces the energy cost further. It is so simple to operate that anyone – a volunteer parent or a student – can use the physical control panel confidently on match day after a few minutes' training.
