A longer warranty period and an optional extended warranty package give extra security on a piece of equipment a club wants to use for years, potentially decades, without significant reinvestment.
Site survey and design
The first and often most important step in the project is the free site survey, during which the supplier measures the actual viewing distance, assesses the options for the support structure and establishes where the electrical feed will come from. This step determines exactly what size and brightness of board is needed, and whether a separate support post is required or fixing to an existing wall or roof structure will do. A properly conducted survey avoids the common problem of the final board's size or position not fitting the space, and allows the contractor to give a precise written quote broken down by cost item before manufacture begins.
Training and commissioning
Training the operating staff should be a natural part of handover, since a volunteer parent, a school PE teacher or a club staff member will not necessarily be at home with technical equipment.
