Because it is visible from every direction, a single device covers what would take up to four conventional flat walls. The control electronics sit inside the sphere or in a concealed plant space, and heat is handled by active ventilation. The support structure is sized with a structural design that takes the load-bearing capacity of the location into account, in ceiling-mounted or plinth-mounted form alike. Every sphere is made to a bespoke size and resolution, so the project begins with a site survey and a consultation.
Quality, operation and reliability
Colour consistency between modules is critical on a sphere display, because the slightest deviation is conspicuous on a curved surface; that is why we fit only quality LED chips from the same production batch. The expected life of the LEDs is around 100,000 operating hours, which means more than 20 years of service even at 10–12 hours a day in an atrium, backed by brightness calibration. Content is managed by the operators through a browser-based interface or an app, with training as part of handover, so no separate IT specialist is required.
