What COB technology adds over conventional LED
The essence of COB – Chip on Board – technology is that the LED chips are moulded directly onto the surface of the panel rather than fitted as individual, protruding diodes. The result is a smooth, continuous surface that is significantly more impact-resistant, better protected against dust and moisture, and free of fragile, projecting components. That property is crucial in spaces where the display is used at close range, including by touch, as in a meeting room or a classroom where the viewing distance is often only 1–3 metres. The COB surface also gives even brightness and contrast at a wider viewing angle, so people sitting at the edge of the room do not see a distorted picture.
