Why LAN rather than Wi-Fi, and who it suits
Wi-Fi is a convenient solution, but there are locations where the wireless signal is unstable, poorly covered, or disturbed by many other devices on the same frequency — larger shopping centres, industrial settings, or buildings full of metal structures. In such cases a wired LAN connection provides far more reliable content upload and refreshing, since the connection does not depend on the radio-frequency environment. The E62 card was designed specifically for these situations, so if a network cable is available at the installation point, this solution guarantees the most stable operation. A wired connection also often gives faster data transfer, a noticeable advantage when uploading larger, more detailed content — on mid-sized walls of around 5–10 m², where the typical viewing distance is 6–12 metres, that counts for something.
Use and content management
During commissioning you connect the card to the router or switch with a network cable; after that you can easily reach and refresh the content from the accompanying app, including from within the local network. The card downloads the text, images and effects assembled in the app, then stores them in internal memory and plays them back on its own, continuously, regardless of whether the network connection is currently active. This operating principle guarantees that a network outage or a maintenance window does not interrupt the LED wall's display.
