A panoramic format for large spaces

A 5.8 metre wide, elongated surface is a different genre from a conventional 16:9 display: it fills the space panoramically, which makes it especially powerful in a foyer, at the end of a corridor axis or at a hall entrance, where it catches the first glance of everyone arriving. Brand films, landscape visuals, welcome animations and multi-zone information compositions (programme, timetable, sponsors) can all be composed natively for it. By the 1 mm ≈ 2.5–3 m rule of thumb the image is continuous from 2.5 metres and comfortable from 6 metres – at foyer scale that covers every visitor position, so P2.5 here is an invisible saving. Technical parameters for specialists

The resolution is 1280×2320 px at a density of 400 px/m – widescreen content is most effective composed to the native resolution, and we provide a content production specification for that. Brightness above 600 cd/m² ensures a readable image even in a glass-fronted foyer, and it can be regulated automatically to the time of day. The refresh rate above 6000 Hz is free of banding on camera capture, and contrast above 5000:1 with 16.7 million colours gives a saturated, deep image. Peak consumption is 439 W/m², about 8.2 kW for the whole wall – we size the power feed and the cabling during the design phase together with the site's electrical engineer. The controller divides the surface into any zones required.

Quality that represents you for years

A giant foyer surface is the venue's calling card – if it goes patchy or blocks of pixels drop out, it sends exactly the opposite message to the one it was installed for. That is why we hold to the rule especially strictly on large surfaces: named, quality LED chips, bin-matched modules, factory calibration. Across 18.6 m² there is therefore no panel of a differing shade, and later replacement modules match precisely in colour. The cabinets are front-serviceable: a module swap is a matter of minutes while the rest of the wall keeps running. Spare parts are supplied from regional stock within days and support is by phone – and the 100,000-hour lifespan means over 10 years of operation even in continuous daily use.

As a foyer display, the wall typically runs throughout opening hours – which is why it really matters that with real content the average consumption stays below 147 W/m²: the whole wall runs at about 2.7 kW, which at 12 hours of daily operation is roughly 32 kWh, a well-plannable monthly cost. The timer matches switching on and off to the opening hours, and the brightness follows the time of day. The content can be refreshed over the network from a central interface – even the displays of several buildings from one place. Running it needs no IT specialist: if you can write an email, you can handle this, and operator training is part of the handover.

For the same budget, a P2.5 layout gives you a noticeably larger surface, and from foyer or hall viewing distances (above 2.5–3 metres) the advantage of a denser pixel pitch is invisible – in a large space it is the size that lands, not pixel density measured close up.
