In short

Transparent LED film is a see-through, self-adhesive display layer applied to the inside of shop-window glass, so the shop stays in natural light by day while dynamic content appears on the surface in the evening. Because the film transmits a high proportion of light, typically 60–90%, the interior of the shop remains visible from outside through the display, giving a more open look than a conventional solid LED wall. It is ideal for shop windows, shopfronts and glass-walled spaces where the brand message and the view of the interior both have to work. We fit the film with no drilling and no damage to the glass, and the content can be refreshed remotely and on a schedule, even from a laptop.

Indoor

Transparent LED film for glass

Transparent LED film combines classic shop-window dressing with a digital display. The thin, flexible film is bonded to the inner face of the glass, from where the display works in both directions without distortion. Because of the high light transmission, the interior of the shop remains clearly visible from outside while the content running on the surface draws the attention of passers-by. We work with quality LED chips so that the film gives even brightness and a sharp picture over the long term, with no discolouration.

How it works, and what it adds to a conventional shop window

The film is built from small, sparsely spaced rows of LED points, with most of the glass between them left clear, which is why light transmission on most builds works out at around 60–90%. That means the shop window stays in natural light by day, and the interior — the shelving, the products — remains visible from outside through the display. In the evening or after closing the film can run on its own with strong, attention-grabbing content, since light transmission is no longer a consideration at that point. Unlike a conventional solid LED wall, this solution does not close the window off but complements it, so the shop keeps its open, welcoming shopfront appearance while gaining a digital advertising surface as well. Seen from the street, the content reads well from 2–10 metres, and the character size and the speed of movement are designed to suit that.

Installation and content management

The film is fitted by a specialist to the inner face of the glass using self-adhesive technology, with no drilling and no damage to the glass surface. The control electronics sit at the base of the window or in a concealed box, and power is drawn from the shop's existing supply. Content can be refreshed remotely and on a schedule, so offers, opening hours or seasonal messages can be swapped quickly through a simple browser-based interface, which the shop's own staff can manage independently after training. The film is cut bespoke to match the glass, so that it covers the window surface precisely.

Quality, service life and reliability

Shop-window film runs day in, day out, often for 12–16 hours a day, which is why we fit only quality LED chips with good resistance to thermal load, whose brightness and colour stay stable for years. Expected life runs in the 80,000–100,000 operating hour range, which even across normal retail opening hours means 15–20 years of reliable operation. Because the film is built in sections, replacing a faulty part does not affect the whole surface, and we supply the part from regional stock. We give a warranty on the film and on the control electronics alike, with the precise terms set out in the contract.

Transparent LED film for glass — frequently asked questions

Is the inside of the shop still clearly visible through the film?

Yes — thanks to the high light transmission the interior of the shop remains clearly visible by day; the film does not close the window off completely.

Is the glass damaged when the film is applied?

No — the film is fitted from the inside using self-adhesive technology, with no drilling and no damage to the glass surface.

Does the content work in daylight too?

Yes, though the really strong, high-contrast effect comes into its own in the evening or in overcast conditions; by day the natural light dominates.

What is the warranty, and how long does the film last?

Expected life is 80,000–100,000 operating hours, which across normal opening hours means 15–20 years, and we give a warranty on that and on the control electronics.

Who will be able to manage the content in the shop?

A trained member of staff can update it independently through the browser-based interface, with no IT support required.

What happens if one section fails?

Because the film is built in sections, only the affected part has to be replaced; we supply the part from regional stock, and the whole film does not have to be changed.
