In short

This large 400×60 cm outdoor LED scrolling sign is built for facade use on two lines, with a P8 pixel pitch, 8,000 nits of brightness and an IP65 rating. A P8 pixel pitch is legible from an optimal mid-range of 15 metres and up to a maximum of 50 metres – the rule of thumb being that every 1 mm of pixel pitch corresponds to roughly 2.5–3 metres of comfortable viewing distance, so an 8 mm pitch is designed for large, open spaces. It can be driven over Wi-Fi and LAN alike and runs stably from -30°C to +65°C. Weighing about 22 kg and delivered in four sections, it is installed by two people on a steel bracket. Designed for the facades of shopping centres, stadiums and main-road businesses, where the aim is an unmistakable presence from a distance.

LED scrolling sign 400×60 cm – two-line outdoor P8 with Wi-Fi

The large 400×60 cm outdoor version of the LED scrolling sign gives genuine facade dominance: built from P8 modules, the display is immediately noticeable and readable from 50 metres, and its 8,000 nits are flawless even in direct summer sun. Two lines allow a business to communicate its current offer and its general strapline at the same time. This model is not about fine detail; it is about a driver crawling along a main road, or a customer arriving from a shopping-centre car park, seeing the company name or the key message clearly from far away. Its size and weight call for a substantial support structure and professional installation, which Korád-Trade handles from the site survey through to commissioning, all from one place.

P8 pixel pitch in outdoor use

Why is P8 the best choice at long range?

A P8 pixel pitch (8 mm between LEDs) is optimal for outdoor use at long viewing distances: legibility is excellent from an optimal mid-range of 15 metres and up to a maximum of 50 metres, and the structure costs less than builds with a finer pixel pitch. Where the message is concise – company name, price, opening hours – P8 is the perfect choice. The rule of thumb is simple: the greater the viewing distance, the coarser the pixel pitch that can be allowed, and choosing an unnecessarily fine pitch at this size would only add cost for no reason.

Structural characteristics and installation

How is a 400 cm board fixed?

The 400×60 cm housing can be delivered in four sections and is assembled on site by the fitters. It is fixed with a steel bracket whose wall-drilled anchoring elements take M10 anchors. It weighs about 22 kg, and installation requires at least two people. Korád-Trade also provides delivery and installation, and the sizing of the support structure is always preceded by a site survey, so that the load-bearing capacity of the facade and the fixing points are both suitable.

Why ordering a board this size is not a risk

What guarantees long-term reliability at this size?

With a 400×60 cm board intended for a facade it matters particularly that it is not built from cheap modules assembled out of mixed production batches, because over a large surface every colour deviation is immediately obvious. This model is built from uniform, quality-controlled LED chips; the service life of the modules is over 50,000 hours, which even at 12–14 hours of outdoor operation a day means 10+ years. The operating range of -30°C to +65°C guarantees that neither the coldest winter night nor summer heat measured on a rooftop affects its operation. In the event of a fault the modules can be released from the front, and because of Korád-Trade's service backing and its P8 spare parts held in stock the swap is typically resolved quickly, with no waiting weeks for an imported module.

Running, consents and payback

What can I expect after the investment?

A board of this size at 8,000 nits has an estimated power draw of around 350–500 W at average operating brightness, and can go higher at peak brightness; at 12 hours of operation a day that comes to roughly 125–180 kWh a month. Measured against the turnover of a main-road business or a shopping centre, that is a negligible cost. The price does not cover the board alone: the support structure, the installation and the network provision are separate items, and the free site survey gives an exact, individual price for those. Depending on size and position, a planning notification or consent from the local authority may also be required, and Korád-Trade helps prepare that too, so that the investment pays back lawfully and on time.

LED scrolling sign 400×60 cm – two-line outdoor P8 with Wi-Fi — frequently asked questions

From how far away can the 400×60 cm LED scrolling sign be read?

With P8 modules the text is optimally legible from 10–50 metres. Maximum optical range can be close to 70–80 metres if the contrast of the text and the character size are right.

Is consent needed to put up a LED board of this size?

Putting up advertising signs is subject to the local authority; depending on size and location, a planning notification or building consent may be required. Korád-Trade helps prepare the paperwork.

How much does this large board consume in a month?

At average operating brightness, power draw is estimated at 350–500 W, which at 12 hours of operation a day comes to roughly 125–180 kWh a month. Measured against the turnover of a main-road business, that is a small running cost.

What is the warranty, and what happens in the event of a fault?

The service life of the LED modules is over 50,000 hours, corresponding to 10+ years at 12–14 hours of operation a day. In the event of a fault the modules can be released from the front, and Korád-Trade provides a fast swap from spare parts held in stock.

Who installs it, and how long does it take?

The board, delivered in four sections and weighing about 22 kg, is installed by two people on a steel bracket, typically within one working day, at fixing points planned in advance from the site survey.

Can the system be extended later if the need grows?

Yes. The modular build and the LAN/Wi-Fi control allow further boards to be connected to the same interface later, so the system can grow with the business.
