The software lets you set the order in which the modes rotate: the green cross animation, the current outside temperature, the exact time and the date. The speed of the animation and the duration of each screen can be set individually. Optionally a short text message ('Open!', for instance) can also be configured, which is an extra attention-grabbing element on the facade.

It synchronises the time automatically from an NTP server over a Wi-Fi network connection, so the seasonal clock changes are handled automatically too. If the network goes down, the internal RTC clock keeps accurate time offline, so there is no need to reset it manually.
