The 800×400 cm (32 m²) P8 outdoor LED video wall is a 1000×500 pixel, 8000 nit, IP65-rated display with redundant power and control systems. Its recommended viewing distance of 20–80 metres makes it the best choice as the main display at large stadiums, race circuits and open-air showgrounds. Peak draw is roughly 10–12 kW and lifespan is 100,000 hours; installation starts with a site survey and structural design.
Outdoor LED video wall P8 – 800×400 cm
The 800×400 cm configuration of the P8 outdoor LED video wall appears in the largest commercial LED display projects in the region: motor racing, large-scale festivals, stadiums and public-space advertising. The 8 × 4 metre surface is optimal at a viewing distance of 20–80 metres – closer than that, the resolution of P5 or P4 modules makes more sense; further away, P10 does. The redundant power and control systems guarantee that the picture does not drop out in front of a large audience or during a live broadcast, and active cooling keeps operation stable on the hottest summer days. Installation always begins with a structural calculation and a free site survey, because at this surface area the engineering of the support structure and the power supply is decisive.

Large-scale event use
What kind of event is the P8 LED video wall ideal for?
At open-air concerts, sports events and festivals the P8 is chosen because the larger pixel pitch delivers a huge display surface at a better price. Close-up resolution is not the primary consideration – an 800×400 cm wall gives a fully satisfying image from 30–80 metres, so it also performs excellently as a giant display beside a race circuit or as the backdrop to a festival stage.
Energy demand and infrastructure
What power supply does an 800×400 cm P8 LED video wall need?
Maximum consumption is around 10–12 kW. A fixed installation needs a 3×16 A three-phase connection. At an event, a generator of at least 20 kVA with reserve capacity is recommended. Korád-Trade also undertakes the energy survey and the power infrastructure design, so that electrical capacity does not become a late surprise in the project.
Quality and uptime at this scale
On a 32 square metre wall that works high-profile events, it matters all the more that it is not assembled from no-name, mixed-source modules. The P8 wall is built from selected, bin-matched LED chips with redundant power supplies and controller, so that no single component failure causes an outage during a live broadcast. We hold spare parts in stock, a module can be replaced from the front without tools in minutes, and our own service team stands behind it – a basic requirement at high-profile events where downtime is not an option.
Consents and payback
For a fixed installation in a public space or beside a race circuit, structural and regulatory approval is a complex process in which Korád-Trade helps from design through to preparing the documentation. An investment of this size is typically tied to major, regularly recurring events (a league season, a festival series), where hire or ticket revenue and the value of the sponsorship surface provide the payback – and we help with a worked example before the decision is made.
Typical applications
Outdoor LED video wall P8 – 800×400 cm — frequently asked questions
Is structural approval required to install an 800×400 cm outdoor LED video wall?
For a fixed public-space installation, generally yes – the building department of the local authority sets out the approval process. Korád-Trade also provides the structural calculation and documentation for the official procedure.
How long does it take to build the P8 LED video wall at an event?
With an experienced crew of 4–6, assembling and cabling an 800×400 cm wall takes about 4–6 hours. Derig is about 2–3 hours. Korád-Trade also offers an event installation service.
What happens if a module fails during the event?
The modules are front-serviceable and, with spare parts held in stock, a swap takes minutes; the redundant power supplies and controller also ensure that the loss of one circuit does not stop the whole wall.
What is the warranty on a system of this size?
We provide a manufacturer's warranty on the complete system, which you can extend with the Warranty+ package, backed by our own service team and spare parts held in stock.
Is this size available for hire as well as purchase?
Yes, the P8 giant display is also offered on a hire basis, with delivery and on-site installation included in the price.
How is content handled during a live broadcast or a race?
The redundant Nova Star control system is driven from a simple interface, and training the operating staff is part of the handover, so the surface can be managed confidently during a live event too.
