This page is about fixed LED walls built and installed by us for premises in Sesvete: showrooms and trade counters, sports and community halls, the warehouse and workshop units on the eastern edge of the district, and the retail frontages along the main road. We manufacture the wall in Győr, fit it on site, and hand it over with the content system working. LED wall in Sesvete — manufacturing, installation, quote
Sesvete belongs to the City of Zagreb on paper, but with roughly 70,800 residents it carries the weight of a mid-sized town, and it keeps its own daily rhythm. In the morning the roads out towards the capital fill up; from late afternoon the same traffic comes back along Zagrebačka cesta and off the A3 at Ivanja Reka, and the trains from Dugo Selo empty onto the platform at Sesvete station. For a permanently installed display this matters more than population figures. Nobody looks at a screen in Sesvete on the way out. It is read on the way home, often in the dark half of the year when five o'clock is already night, by a driver slowing for a turn or a pedestrian walking the last four hundred metres from the station. A display planned for that moment is specified differently from one designed to compete with daylight on a busy central boulevard.
The 32 and 16 centimetre grid
Dimensions are settled before any price is quoted
An LED wall is assembled from modules that are always laid out lengthways: 32 centimetres across, 16 centimetres tall. Every finished width is therefore a whole multiple of 32 centimetres and every height a whole multiple of 16. A frontage that offers a clear rectangle of about five metres by two and a half becomes, in practice, 4.80 by 2.40 metres, or fifteen modules across by fifteen modules high. This is not a detail to leave to the end. Two centimetres of unplanned trim on a warehouse wall in the Sesvetski Kraljevec business zone is an afternoon of improvised metalwork, while the same two centimetres decided on a drawing costs nothing. Send us the frontage photograph with a measured width and we return the achievable rectangle before anything else is discussed.
Pitch against the depth of the forecourt
Distance decides resolution, not budget
Pitch is simply how far apart the diodes sit, and the only sensible way to settle it is to stand where your customers will stand. A trade counter where customers read the screen from three or four metres wants P1.5 to P2.5. A display inside a hall, read from the far side of a room, sits in the P2.5 to P4 band. A wall on a workshop or dealership frontage seen from a customer car park and from the passing carriageway, which is to say from twelve to thirty metres, is properly served by P4 to P8, and paying for a finer pitch buys nothing an eye can resolve at that range. Where a screen has both readers, the near one wins the argument only if the near use is the commercially important one.
Brightness for a district that reads screens after dark
Peak output, and the sensor that keeps it in check
An outdoor wall is built to reach between 4,500 and 5,500 nits, because at midday in June a screen facing south competes with the sky itself. That figure is a ceiling, not a setting. An ambient light sensor drops the output through the evening, and by nine at night a wall left at full power on a residential stretch is a complaint waiting to be filed by the flats above. Indoors the requirement collapses to something in the region of 700 to 800 nits for a hall or a foyer, and pushing beyond that only tires the people watching. We set the dimming curve during handover and write the values into the documentation so they can be restored if the controller is ever replaced.
What is behind the cladding
Steel frame, sandwich panel and wind load
Most of the candidate walls in the district are not solid masonry. The units around Sesvetski Kraljevec and the newer commercial buildings on Zagrebačka cesta are steel-framed with sandwich panelling, and a panel skin carries almost nothing on its own. The fixing therefore has to reach the purlins or the columns behind it, which means locating them before the frame is fabricated and sealing every penetration afterwards. A wall of five square metres is not heavy, but as a solid sheet it collects wind, and the frame is designed for that pressure rather than for the mass hanging on it. Where the structure cannot be reached we build a self-supporting frame that stands off the ground and merely leans on the building, which is often cheaper than opening a cladding system.
Getting a picture onto the wall without a trench
Live source, scheduled playlist, or both
Two feeds exist and they coexist happily. A live picture arrives on the HDMI input, whatever the source — media player, notebook, camera — which is what a sports hall wants during a match or a school event. Everything else runs as a timed playlist stored in the controller itself, refreshed across the site network, from a memory stick, or wirelessly. That last option is why a gate-side display at the far end of a yard needs no data trench back to the office. Items carry validity dates, so a fortnight of changing prices is prepared in one sitting. Lose the connection and the last good playlist simply keeps playing.
Three hundred kilometres, and what that buys
Survey, installation and the service call
Sesvete is 300 road kilometres from our works in Győr. That is a distance we cover as a single working day: a team leaves early, installs or repairs, and drives home the same evening, so a fault reported on Monday is normally attended within the week rather than turning into a project. The survey is usually done in the same visit as a nearby job. As this is a foreign installation, the journey and the crew's per-diem are quoted as separate named items with the distance written out, rather than disappearing into the rate per square metre. The warranty period is one year or two according to specification, and a small stock of spare tiles is delivered with the wall, so an isolated module failure becomes a quarter of an hour's work for your own caretaker rather than a wait for a vehicle from Hungary.
