Radovljica occupies a terrace above the Sava in Gorenjska, a short drive from Bled, and its medieval core around Linhart Square is one of the best preserved in Slovenia. The town has built a distinct cultural identity on two unlikely foundations: beekeeping, interpreted at the museum on the square, and chocolate, celebrated at a festival that fills the old town each spring. Around those run an early music festival, a busy wedding calendar drawing on the setting, and the conference and incentive business that spills over from the Bled hotels. Venues are historic interiors, manor rooms and hotel function spaces, none of which will accept fixings and several of which are reached through streets closed to vehicles. Live material comes from a laptop over HDMI, which covers a presentation, a browser or a camera feed without anything further being hired. We give the controls to whoever will be in the room, before leaving, and we do not charge for it. At a wedding or a festival that person is rarely the one who made the booking, so we brief whoever is actually going to press something. The number we leave stays answered for the whole hire.

864 kilometres out and back
Driving is 432 EUR net on a booking of one day, from 864 return kilometres charged at fifty cents each. The screen adds 75 EUR net per panel per day at the indoor P2 rate we publish, and nothing else appears; a booking on one of the other four builds carries its own panel figure, settled in the offer. Guide figures, net of tax: 507 EUR for one panel across a day, 582 EUR for two, 657 EUR for the trio and 807 EUR for all five. Take the trio over two days and it reaches 1,314 EUR; five panels the same way come to 1,614 EUR, since a second day requires the van twice. An operator of ours at the screen is 63 EUR net for every day attended.

Five hours of road, then the last stretch on foot
The route is motorway almost throughout, north-west past Ljubljana into Gorenjska, and both ends of it lie inside Schengen and the eurozone, so no border wait and no conversion enter the plan. The part that needs arranging is the approach to Linhart Square, where vehicles stop short and the last stretch is walked. Panels are carried by two people, which is precisely why this format works in a protected centre when a truss system could not be brought in at all. We settle the route and the timing with the venue before quoting rather than on the day.

What the two ratings mean for a spring festival
The indoor panels have no weather sealing. Their fine pitch keeps the image whole from a metre and a half, which is what a manor room, a hotel function space, a marquee or a roofed stall needs, and it is also why they stay dry and out of direct sun. During the chocolate festival much of the activity is on the square itself, in April weather. An unprotected position there is not a place for an indoor unit — it is a place for a sealed outdoor cabinet, the P2.5 where visitors come close to the surface or the P3 where a bigger face has to read across the square. Both are part of what we hire, priced for the individual event, so the practical step is to tell us at the enquiry which of the two situations you are in.
