With its P4 pixel pitch, the 160×224 cm outdoor LED message sign reads clearly from the other side of the street and from busier routes, from a viewing distance of about 4–6 metres. Its brightness exceeds 4,200 cd/m², it handles 16.7 million colours, and consumption on a full white image is around 320–380 W. It delivers the same impression as the denser P3, only viewed from further away, which is why it is better priced. Content can be uploaded from a Wi-Fi app with no PC. With an IP65 front rating and a 100,000-hour LED service life it runs dependably all year round.
Outdoor full-colour LED message sign 160×224 cm (P4)
The P4 pixel pitch has a slightly sparser raster than P3, which gives a perfectly sharp image from a few metres further away, in return for a better price. The 160×224 cm size is therefore ideal for businesses whose facade faces a busy road, square or car park, and whose target audience typically views the display from a car or from the other side of the street. The robust outdoor build runs dependably in rain, frost and blazing sun, and the automatic brightness control adjusts the intensity according to the time of day.

P4 or P3: when P4 is the right choice
The P4 pixel pitch is optimal when the display is typically viewed not from arm's length but from at least 4–6 metres – from the other side of the street, from a car park or beside a wider road. From that distance the eye can no longer distinguish between a P3 and a P4 raster, whereas the P4 panel costs less to manufacture, so you get an equally striking, vividly coloured display at a better price. The 160×224 cm surface gives ample room for a clearly legible logo, short text and a simple graphic animation, which makes it a frequent choice on the facades of shops, restaurants and service businesses facing a busy road.
The better price is no compromise on quality
It is important to distinguish between a sparser pixel pitch and a poor-quality LED chip: the better pricing of P4 comes from having to fit fewer LED dots into a given surface, not from using lower-quality components. Here too we fit quality-controlled SMD LED chips from a single production batch into the modules, with the same service backing and spare-parts stock as on the P3 sibling models. P4 is therefore not the cheap, quick-to-fail category but a deliberate choice matched to the viewing distance and optimal in value for money.
Dependable operation in every season
The front film of the panel has an IP65 rating, so neither summer storms nor winter frost and snow cause a fault. The powder-coated aluminium housing resists corrosion, and the ventilation system at the rear prevents overheating during summer peaks. Because of the refresh rate above 2,880 Hz, the screen stays free of flicker on camera footage too, which is useful if you also want to use the display for social media content or an advertising film. Wi-Fi control and the accompanying app allow the content to be refreshed remotely, and with the timer function you can switch the message sign on and off automatically to match the opening hours, reducing energy consumption.
Consumption and running cost
On a full white image consumption is typically around 320–380 W, appreciably lower with real, mixed content – logos, text, moderate animation. Using the mobile app requires no technical background: if someone can send a photograph from their phone, they will find uploading content for the display just as easy. Training is part of the handover, and we demonstrate the controls on site, in practice.
Typical applications
Outdoor full-colour LED message sign 160×224 cm (P4) — frequently asked questions
How does P4 differ from P3?
With P4 the distance between the pixels is greater, so it has to be viewed from a few metres further away for the image to be completely sharp; in return the panel costs less.
Is P4 worth buying if the board is viewed from across the street?
Yes. From that distance the eye no longer perceives the density difference between P3 and P4, so P4 delivers the same impression at a better price.
Will the display cope with winter frost and summer heatwaves?
Yes. Thanks to the IP65-rated front film and the ventilated aluminium housing, the message sign runs stably at extremes of temperature above and below zero.
Does the better price mean a lower-quality LED chip?
No. The lower price of P4 comes from the sparser pixel layout, not from chip quality: here too we fit quality-controlled LEDs from a single production batch, with the same service backing.
How much does this panel consume in a month?
On a full white image consumption is around 320–380 W, and typically lower with real, mixed content, meaning a moderate monthly load on the electricity bill.
Who trains us on the mobile app, and how long does it take to learn?
We demonstrate the controls on site, in practice, at handover; it can be picked up in a few minutes, since the app is as simple as sending a photograph from a phone.
