Read this as a sequence of decisions rather than a product description. Below are the steps we take a Vinkovci customer through for a permanently installed LED display: establishing the buildable size, choosing the pitch, settling indoor against outdoor, considering the rolling poster before any installation work is planned, choosing how the picture arrives, and organising a journey of 397 kilometres from our works in Győr so that it only has to be made when it is genuinely necessary.

Vinkovci is one of the longest continuously inhabited places in Europe, a town of some 30,800 people that has been occupied for eight thousand years and was the Roman Cibalae before it was anything else. That history is not decoration here; it shapes the ground. Excavation is a live consideration when anything is dug, the Gradski muzej Vinkovci holds finds such as the Orion vessel that draw visitors who expect a modern presentation, and the rail junction that made the town a crossroads still fills it with people arriving and waiting. A fixed display bought in this town is usually bought for an interior where people spend time, not for a facade that shouts at a passing car.
Start from the module, not from a diagonal
Work out what is buildable before you fall in love with a size
Take the opening you have and divide it. Our displays are assembled from one module laid horizontally, 32 centimetres wide and 16 centimetres tall, so the picture width lands on a multiple of 32 centimetres and the height on a multiple of 16. Do that arithmetic first and you will never be told late in the process that the screen you drew cannot exist. A foyer wall with 4.16 metres between obstructions gives thirteen modules across. A picture 2.4 metres high is fifteen rows. If your available width is 4.3 metres, the display is still 4.16 metres and the remainder becomes surround. Deciding deliberately what happens to those leftover centimetres is part of the design, and it is much easier to do on a drawing than on a ladder.
Measure the shortest viewing distance and pick the pitch from that
Stand where your visitors will stand, then specify
Walk into the room and go to the closest point at which somebody will regularly look at the screen. That distance, not the size of the room, sets the pixel pitch. Within roughly two metres, as at a museum interpretation panel or a service counter, specify P1.5 to P2.5. From five to ten metres, which covers most halls, meeting rooms and showrooms, P2.5 to P4 is right. Beyond fifteen or twenty metres, or outdoors across a forecourt, P4 to P8 does the job for materially less money. Resist the instinct to buy the finest pitch you can afford. On a wall of any size the difference between P2 and P3 is a large sum, and if nobody stands close enough to see it, that sum has bought nothing. We will happily show you both at the survey with a sample panel.
Settle indoor or outdoor before the frame is drawn
It changes the build, not just a line on the specification
Decide honestly whether daylight will fall on the surface. An indoor build runs at 700 to 800 nits and suits a controlled interior. An outdoor build is sealed to IP65 and driven at 4,500 to 5,500 nits, and it is the correct choice for any position where strong daylight reaches the screen even if rain never does, such as inside a large glazed entrance. The decision has to precede the frame design because the construction, depth, ventilation and power provision all follow from it. Changing your mind after manufacture means a new display, not a modification, and that is a conversation we would rather have at the start.
Consider the rolling poster before you plan any installation work

Ask what would actually be lost if the display were not attached to anything. The LED poster is a self-supporting portrait screen on rollers: a 640 by 1920 millimetre picture area carried on a frame standing 201 centimetres tall. It is delivered, wheeled to its position, plugged into a socket and used. Nothing is fixed into masonry that may be older than the country, no access platform is booked, no working-at-height method statement is written and no structural opinion is commissioned, because the building carries none of it. At 397 kilometres that distinction changes the timetable, not merely the invoice. A fixed wall at this distance means a survey trip and then an installation trip, each planned around a preparatory day and an overnight stay, because 397 kilometres is not a there-and-back morning. A poster is loaded, driven, unloaded and working within the same week. Start with one unit at a reception or a shop entrance and see what you use it for; because the controllers chain, further units can later be driven as a single continuous picture rather than as several screens showing the same thing, so the first purchase is never a dead end.
Choose how the picture is going to arrive
Live source, scheduled playlist, and no cable pulled through a protected wall
Pick one of two routes in, or plan for both. A live HDMI input shows whatever is on a laptop, player or camera at that moment. A scheduled playlist, loaded over the network or from a USB stick, runs a daily programme without anyone present, which is what most permanent installations actually use for most of their hours. Then note what you do not have to do. The controller is reachable over Wi-Fi as well as by cable, so there is no data run to chase through a building where every chase is an archaeological question. The screen position needs mains power. The content can reach it through the air, and in an old building that single fact often decides where the display can go.
Plan the 397 kilometres once and do everything in that visit
Preparatory day, overnight stay, and spares that stay behind
Treat the journey as the scarce resource. Nearly 400 kilometres of road means we arrive the previous afternoon and start early, so a visit is planned to complete the survey or the installation in full rather than to be repeated. That is why we ask detailed questions before travelling: substrate, supply position and rating, access, and where people will be standing. In the quotation the travel and subsistence for a foreign address are stated as separate items and never folded into the display price, so you can see what the distance costs. The warranty is one or two years by specification, and spare modules arrive with the consignment and remain on your premises. That last point matters more here than anywhere else on our list: a fault that can be repaired with a screwdriver in Vinkovci does not become a two-day journey.
