We manufacture and install fixed LED walls, and we deliver them to the capital as a scheduled project rather than a same-day errand. The road distance from Győr is 408 kilometres, so every visit is budgeted in advance: a preparation day, accommodation for the fitters and a tightly written task list for the hours on site. Ljubljana concentrates the kind of client who orders a permanent display: public institutions around Trg republike, the office and retail density of BTC City, the hospitality frontages along Miklošičeva cesta and the exhibition halls of Gospodarsko razstavišče. In a city of roughly 285 600 residents the daily audience is not spread evenly; it collects in a handful of predictable places, and a fixed wall repays its cost only where that concentration can be counted. This page looks at the Slovenian capital purely as a site for permanently mounted screens, and at what the building, the sightlines and the 408 kilometres from our Győr workshop mean for the specification.
Module grid and finished wall dimensions
The panel is always landscape
Every module is a landscape unit of 32 by 16 centimetres, so a wall grows in 32 cm steps across and 16 cm steps upward. A screen intended for a lobby on Slovenska cesta is therefore drawn as, say, twelve modules wide and nine high - 384 by 144 centimetres - and never as a round figure chosen first and forced onto the grid afterwards. We ask for the free opening before quoting, because the grid decides what fits. Where the architecture leaves an awkward remainder, the surplus is taken up by the frame and the surrounding cladding rather than by cutting panels. This is the constraint that most often changes an initial sketch, and it is far cheaper to meet it in the drawing than on the scaffold.

Reading range in halls and on facades
Pitch follows the nearest regular viewer, not the furthest one. For a reception desk or a museum-style interior where people stand within a couple of metres, P1.5 to P2.5 is the working range. Meeting rooms, showrooms and shopping-gallery interiors of the kind found in BTC City sit comfortably at P2.5 to P4. Anything read across a square or from a passing lane - a facade panel visible from Čopova ulica, or a screen aimed at traffic - belongs in the P4 to P8 band. A finer pitch than the sightline requires only raises the price and the pixel count; a coarser one is visible immediately and cannot be corrected later. We settle the figure with a measurement, not an estimate.
Brightness classes for indoor and outdoor positions
IP65 and the daylight figure
Exterior builds are rated IP65 and run at 4500 to 5500 nits, which is what a sunlit frontage or an open square such as Prešeren Square demands, since the display competes with direct light for most of the day. Interior cabinets are specified at 700 to 800 nits; anything brighter in a closed hall is uncomfortable to look at and wastes power. The two classes are not interchangeable. An indoor panel mounted under an eave will disappoint by mid-morning, and an outdoor panel in a foyer has to be dimmed so far that its advantage disappears. We ask which way the screen faces, and how much glazing surrounds it, before the class is fixed.
Signal path and content scheduling
Live feed or wireless timetable
There are two normal ways to drive the wall. An HDMI input carries whatever the source device shows - a laptop at a conference, a camera, a playout machine. Alternatively the controller runs a timetable loaded over the network or from USB, which suits a screen that repeats a fixed sequence during opening hours. The controller is reachable over Wi-Fi, so no data cable has to be pulled to the display itself. In a protected building near Ljubljana Castle, or in any interior where chasing a duct through finished surfaces is unwelcome, this removes the most disruptive part of the job. Power still has to reach the wall; the signal does not.
Distance, scheduling and site visits
What 408 kilometres changes
The capital lies 408 road kilometres from our workshop in Győr. That is not a distance we cover twice in a day, so the work is organised around it: a survey visit that records the wall structure, the electrical supply and the access route, then an installation trip with a preparation day and an overnight stay for the fitters. For a foreign site the travel and per-diem costs appear as separate line items in the quotation. They are not folded into the price per square metre, so you can see exactly what the distance costs and weigh it against the rest of the offer.
The standing poster as an alternative to building in
Folding and cased versions of the same unit
Ljubljana is the one Slovenian address where we say plainly that a fitted wall is easy to arrange. There are competent installers in the city, and the argument that a poster spares you a two-day journey carries far less weight here than it does on the coast. The poster wins on other grounds instead. A tenant on Slovenska cesta or in a BTC City unit is not free to open up a landlord's fabric; a company running three campaigns a year would rather move one display between a foyer, an exhibition stand and a shop window than commission three separate installations. Two builds exist for precisely that. One folds down for carrying; the other travels inside a case on wheels. Both are handled by the people who use them, without tools. And because there is no build to schedule, the display is doing its job in the week it is delivered rather than in the month a fitting crew happens to be free.
