An illuminated LED sign is designed backwards: from the place the customer reads it, to the character height, to the tile count, and only then to the artwork. This page follows that order for a shop or an office in Celje, and sets out what happens on our side - survey, manufacture, the 338 kilometre trip from Győr - once the specification is settled.
Illuminated signage in Celje — manufacturing, installation, quote
Signage in Celje works on a short scale. Stanetova ulica is a pedestrian street where the customer is already within a few metres of the shop window, and the lanes around Krekov trg are similarly tight; a sign that would be modest on a ring road is oversized here. The exceptions are the retail edges - Citycenter Celje and the approaches carrying traffic into the city - where the reading distance jumps and the whole specification changes with it. Deciding which of the two situations applies is the first job, not the last.
Draw the sign onto the module grid
Tiles first, artwork second
Plan the letter height around a tile that measures 32 centimetres on the long side and 16 on the short one. Two rows produce a 32 centimetre band suitable for a single word in a strong typeface; four rows give 64 centimetres and room for a name with a strapline beneath it. Produce the elevation at scale with the tile lines visible. Everyone involved - the owner, the designer, the fitter - then argues about the same drawing instead of about three different ideas of the same sign.
Fix the reading distance on the street
Pedestrian or vehicle
Pace out the distance from the point where the sign first has to be understood. On a pedestrian frontage on Stanetova ulica that is often three metres or less, and P1.5 to P2.5 is the specification. From a car park or across a forecourt, P2.5 to P4 does the job. For traffic on an approach road, P4 to P8 with generous character height is both correct and far cheaper per square metre. Do not average the two cases. Specify for the nearest reader who matters, then check that the furthest one can still make out the name.
Set the day and evening brightness
IP65 outside, dimmed after dusk
Specify the outdoor build - IP65, 4500 to 5500 nits - for anything on a facade, then set a timetable that reduces the output in the evening. The high figure exists to beat daylight, not to light the street at midnight. View the result from the pavement after dark before signing it off. Neighbours above a shop notice a badly set sign long before the owner does, and the correction is a setting rather than a return visit.
Load the artwork and set the schedule
Items, times and updates
Prepare the messages as a list with times attached, so that the sign changes itself between the daytime offer and the evening one. Load it over the network, over Wi-Fi from a device inside the shop, or from a USB stick where there is no network. Keep an HDMI source in mind only if the sign has to mirror something live. For ordinary retail use the stored schedule is more reliable, because nothing depends on a computer staying switched on.
Order the survey before ordering the sign
One visit, all the unknowns
Have the fascia surveyed first: what it is made of, whether it will carry the fixings, where the nearest supply sits and how the crew will reach the height. Celje is 338 kilometres from the workshop, so the survey and the fitting are two planned journeys, the second with a preparation day and an overnight stay. Travel and subsistence for a foreign address are listed separately in the offer. What the distance costs is visible, and it does not change unless the scope does.
Collect the documents for the file
Permits, warranty, spares
Assemble the paperwork early. Slovenian regulations govern what may be fixed to a building exterior, and they are applied more firmly in the historic streets below Celje Castle than on a retail estate. The application is yours to make; we take no position on how it will be decided. From us you receive the technical annexes for the submission, the warranty document for the agreed one or two years, and the reserve tiles that ship with every sign.
