Kaštela is not a town with a centre; it is seven old settlements strung along the northern shore of Kaštela Bay, each with its own core, its own waterfront and its own habits. Kaštel Sućurac sits closest to Split and its industry, then Gomilica with the fortified Kaštilac standing in the water, Kambelovac, Lukšić with Vitturi Castle behind its square, Stari, Novi, and finally Štafilić at the Trogir end - where Split Airport occupies a large part of the municipality's western edge. Anyone planning a permanent display here has to answer a question that does not arise in an ordinary town of the same size: which of the seven does the screen belong to, and does the answer make it worth having at all?
Which of the seven settlements should carry the screen?
Catchment along a line rather than around a square
Ask where your customers already stop, not where the map suggests a centre. A supermarket forecourt in Kaštel Stari, the square below Vitturi Castle in Kaštel Lukšić, the approach to the industrial zone at Kaštel Sućurac and the airport corridor at Štafilić all serve different populations, and a display in one of them is effectively invisible in the others. In practice we advise clients either to accept a single-settlement catchment and size the display for that, or to place two modest displays rather than one large one. The second option is often cheaper than it sounds, because a second unit shares the drawing work, the delivery and the crew's journey.
How far away will the display actually be read from?
The D8, a forecourt and a waterfront each answer differently
Pixel pitch follows the reading distance and nothing else. Traffic passing on the Adriatic road reads a screen from twenty-five metres and upwards at speed, which is P4 to P8 territory - coarse, bright and robust, with very few words on it. A forecourt or a shopfront read from four to ten metres works at P2.5 to P4. An interior position such as a hotel reception, a car hire desk or a showroom, where somebody stands a metre or two away, needs P1.5 to P2.5. Paying for a fine pitch on a roadside display is money the passing driver's eye cannot spend.
Why is the finished size never a round number?
The module grid, and what that means for your opening
Displays are assembled from modules 32 centimetres wide and 16 centimetres tall, always in that orientation. The width of any wall we build is therefore a multiple of 32 and its height a multiple of 16, which is why our drawings show sizes like 288 by 144 or 352 by 176 rather than the round figure an architect first sketched. If you have an existing recess or sign frame, send us its internal dimensions early: we will show you the largest display that fits inside it, the next size up if the opening can be enlarged, and what the trim will look like in each case.
What does the airport corridor change about the content?
Arriving traffic, long hours and very short attention
The western end of the municipality lives off movement - car hire, accommodation, transfers, restaurants catering to people who arrived an hour ago. Screens serving that audience have particular requirements: long daily operating hours including early mornings and late evenings, content in more than one language, and a message that survives being read at a glance from a moving car. It also raises the brightness question in both directions. Outdoor units run at 4,500 to 5,500 nits and are sealed to IP65 to hold their own in Dalmatian daylight, but the same screen at full output at one in the morning, beside apartments, is a problem - so a night dimming curve is set at commissioning and written down.
When is a rolling LED poster the better purchase?
Seven waterfronts, no scaffolding, no facade to alter
Often, along this shore. The LED poster is a portrait display on castors - a 64 by 192 centimetre picture, a 201 centimetre frame, 45 kilograms - and it is set up by the customer without any installation trade being involved. No access platform is hired, nothing is anchored into a facade, no structural opinion is sought, and where a mounted wall 695 kilometres from the works implies a preparation day, an overnight stay and a two-day crew visit, a poster is delivered and earning within the same week. It suits precisely the businesses this coastline is made of: a car hire office near the airport, an apartment agency on the riva at Kaštel Novi, a pharmacy, a bank hall, a restaurant that wants tonight's offer where a roll-up used to stand. Choose P1.5 GOB or P2 GOB for close reading, P2.5 for general indoor use, or the P2.5 outdoor cabinet at 4,500 to 5,000 nits for a covered terrace. The controller connects by Wi-Fi or UTP cable and carries audio, and units chain into a single picture, so one panel today can become three next season without replacing anything.

We do not send a crew twice if we can avoid it. The survey is normally done remotely from your photographs, dimensions and a short video walk-round, so the physical visit covers final measurement, mounting, cabling, commissioning, the brightness settings and the handover in one stay. The offer shows the vehicle kilometres, the crew's travel time and the per diem as separate lines rather than absorbing them into the price of the display, which lets you compare our figure honestly with a Split supplier's.
