Krško is an industrial address before it is anything else. Slovenia's only nuclear power station stands on the Sava just downstream of the town, GEN energija has its head office here together with the Svet energije information centre, the Vipap paper mill and the Videm industrial zone employ a substantial share of the working population, and a large contractor ring services all of it. The residential town itself, on the old bank under Sremič, holds barely seven thousand people. So the demand for a large permanent display here comes overwhelmingly from businesses rather than from retail footfall, and it tends to be about information, safety and reception areas rather than about advertising to passers-by.
Who in a town of seven thousand actually buys a large surface?
Reception areas, gatehouses and visitor centres
Four groups account for nearly all of it. Companies in the Videm zone that need a reception or gatehouse display for visitor instructions, contractor briefings and safety figures. The energy sector's public-facing rooms, where a visitor centre exhibit needs a large image and a fine pitch. Sports and cultural venues, principally the sports hall and Stadion Matije Gubca, where the surface serves a seated audience. And a small number of commercial frontages along Cesta krških žrtev and towards Leskovec pri Krškem. What is largely absent is the shopping-street case that drives demand in bigger towns. We mention this because it changes the honest recommendation. If your customers are twelve contractors who visit weekly, a large screen is not what you need; a small board and a well-run notice discipline is. If your visitors are a hundred schoolchildren a week in an exhibition room, the picture is the exhibit and it deserves the budget.
Why is the finished measurement not a free choice?
Everything is built from landscape units of 32 by 16 centimetres
The panel we build with is always wider than it is tall: 320 millimetres across, 160 millimetres down. A completed surface is therefore an exact multiple of those two numbers, and there is nothing in between. A wall of 3.2 metres by 1.92 is ten units by twelve and is a natural size; a wall of 3.05 by 1.85 does not exist. This is the first thing to establish with whoever is designing the space, because a recess formed to an arbitrary dimension has to be adjusted afterwards, and adjusting a formed opening is expensive. We therefore ask for the intended area and the tolerance, and we return the two or three grid sizes that fit inside it, each with its module count and its power figure. Where the surround is joinery or plasterboard, the difference is absorbed in the trim. Where it is a formed concrete recess, it is not, and the grid has to lead the drawing rather than follow it.
What pitch does a gatehouse forecourt need, and what does an exhibition room need?
Two sites, two entirely different answers
At a works entrance, the reader is in a vehicle six to fifteen metres from the surface, often at night, and the content is short: site rules, a contractor number, a delivery instruction. A pitch of P4 to P8 is right, the panels are sealed, and legibility comes from letter height rather than from resolution. Spending money on a fine pitch there buys nothing that anybody in a cab can see. In an exhibition or reception room where people stand two or three metres away and study detail, the opposite applies: P1.5 to P2.5, indoor panels at 700 to 800 nits, and careful attention to the ambient lighting so that the surface is not competing with a skylight. Between the two lies the hall and auditorium case, read from the middle of a room, where P2.5 to P4 is the working band. The rule we apply is always the same: measure from the nearest person who genuinely has to read the content, then choose.
What does a riverside industrial setting do to the specification?
River fog, airborne dust and a wide temperature swing
The Sava valley here produces persistent morning fog through the colder half of the year, and the ground around the industrial zone stays damp. An outdoor installation is specified at IP65 with sealed glands and a drained bottom edge, and it is mounted with an air gap behind the panels so that moisture does not sit against the rear face. Operating brightness for a position in daylight is 4,500 to 5,500 nits, with a dimming curve set at commissioning; the same output after dark would be unusable and would irritate everyone within sight of it. Airborne dust is the second factor, and it is the one clients underestimate. Around a paper mill and a busy goods yard, the front face collects a film that reduces apparent brightness long before any component fails. The remedy is not more output but a cleaning interval written into the handover documents, typically twice a year, and a mounting height that a person with a ladder can actually reach.
When does a rolling LED poster remove the installation problem completely?

The poster is a self-contained upright display standing on a castored foot, with a picture area of 640 by 1920 millimetres. Nothing is fixed to a building, no access platform is hired, no structural opinion is obtained, and the customer puts it into service without anybody attending from our side. In a reception area at Videm, at the visitor entrance to an office building, in a hotel foyer or in the Valvasor complex during an exhibition, it does the job of the printed board and the roll-up stand and can be moved when the room is used for something else. It is not confined indoors either. The same frame carries a sealed outdoor cabinet build running at 4,500 to 5,000 nits, which suits a gatehouse forecourt, a car park entrance or a temporary works compound where drilling into anything is out of the question. Because the units chain into a single continuous picture rather than repeating themselves, a buyer can start with one and enlarge later without discarding the first purchase - a genuinely useful property when the budget arrives in annual instalments.
What does 367 kilometres add to the quotation, and where is it shown?
Travel and subsistence on their own rows, never inside the price
The road distance from our works to Krško is 367 kilometres. For a survey that is a long single day, and we usually combine it with another Slovenian visit in the same week. For a facade installation it means an arrival day, an overnight stay and a working day, because starting to drill after five hours of driving is how mistakes happen. A poster delivery, by contrast, is a pallet on a vehicle and needs no attendance at all. On a cross-border offer, the mileage, the crew hours and the subsistence appear as separate rows so you can see precisely what the distance costs and weigh it against a local quotation. The warranty is one or two years according to configuration, and reserve modules ship in the same crate as the surface. That is deliberate: a module change is a short job for a competent electrician on site, and it should never require a vehicle to leave Győr.
